about

A salty, etherial tale of underwater post mortem seduction

lyrics

Vamps

Come be here and lay with me
Unhinge the mind to find
The measure of your fantasy

Kiss the lips - enjoy
Stroke the mane - touch the skin -enjoy
Taste the sin - enjoy
Come - come within

We know where you want to be
Down where the Divas lust
Oblivion and ecstasy

She thinks she's got me in her pocket
For cryin' out loud
There are no pockets in a shroud

And if the truth be known
Apart from hunger, fear and jealousy
Life beyond the grave is emotionally arid

'Embrace the dark' she urges

But when I contemplate the unearthly hours
The dead among the living has to keep
I tire easily and long for sleep

Finding it hard to get into the spirit of things

Like having to constantly provide
The vital fluid
On which the unmerciful woman
And her siblings exist

I lie on the bed
Tryin' to keep my end up
Listening to the succubus I made a pact with talk dirty

But jokes about
Predatory harridans
And well-endowed young men
Wear thin

I ask myself
When I was mortal
What was my fall from grace?
What prompted this sick, sordid affair?

The answer is simple
I allowed myself to be seduced

Seduced by her boundless knowledge
Of forbidden fruit

Seduced into letting her
Ghost write my story
About Renaissance man's discovery
Of the female seat of pleasure

Most of all
Seduced by the wine
That flowed beneath her young
Creole skin

That was then
When I was mortal

Look at her now

Although still highly intelligent
Years of bad blood
Have soured her
Turning her tortured soul
Hideously deformed

And as for her once beautiful sisters
The relentless pursuit
Of pleasures of the flesh has left them
Drunk on violence
Maddened by addiction to pain

Sometimes when I turn over quickly
In the abyss of the bed
I catch a glimpse of their true being

Old, ugly
Little more than
Sticky leather carapaces
Full of bile and puss

'Blessed be the dammed'
They sing
'Blessed be the dammed'

An eternity of sexual disgust
Is the price I pay
For my fleeting literary success
